"Bioeconomy"

Recently, the terms ‘Bioeconomy’ is widely used among scientists. Different scientists define it differently according to their scope of research. Basically, it means economic activities that involved biological resources, such as agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and aquaculture. The main industries are food, pulp and paper, chemical, biotechnology and energy. Bioeconomy is gaining popularity due to the increase in awareness and exposure of environmental issues among the public. Many people have realized the important to manage and preserve the biological resources as it is depleting rapidly due to the population growth. The real challenge is how to manage and preserve the resources credibly. At BIOREM Lab, INTROP, we strive to contribute our knowledge, experience and skills in forest plantation, eco-tourism, and resource economics to a broader audience who is willing to work together achieving the common goal towards bioeconomy.
