INTROP was pleased to welcome the French Ambassador of Environment, Mr. Xavier Sticker and his delegates to UPM. Twelve delegates were on their mission for bilateral dialogue on palm oil with the Malaysian government. INTROP led the visit and together with Institute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies (IKDPM).

Their visit also as part of Sustainable Agriculture Landscape in Southeast Asia (SALSA) platform activity. SALSA provides the training ground for graduates and researchers to lead sustainable agriculture research in this region. SALSA platform is led by four institutions; French Agricultural Research for Development (CIRAD), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), University of Montpellier (UM), and Association of Southeast Asian Institute of Higher Learning (ASAIHL).

Prof. Dato’ Dr.-Ing. Ir. Renuganth Varatharajoo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) of Industry and Community Relations delivered his welcoming remarks at the event. Researchers from INTROP and IKDPM presented research findings on palm oil to the delegates which sparked impactful discussion.
