International Conference on Managing Eucalyptus Plantations under Global Changes (EUCALYPTUS 2018)

EUCALYPTUS 2018 was organized by CIRAD from 17-22 September 2018 in collaboration with the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) where this conference was a great opportunity for forest plantation scientists and managers to present the latest research in silviculture and genetics to enhance understanding of the act Eucalyptus reply to biotic and abiotic pressure. Among other topics discussed are eco-system services influenced by Eucalyptus monoculture and mixed-species plantations with Eucalyptus trees. The conference also includes plenary sessions to encourage discussions between forest managers and specialists in tree breeding, silviculture, forest pathology, and environmental and social issues. Associate Prof. Dr. Zaiton Samdin presented her study in the "Lightning Talk" session titled "The Future of Eucalyptus Plantation in Malaysia: Environmental, Social and Economic Impacts".
