KAJANG, August 26, 2026 – The Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP) conducted an official promotional visit and strategic research networking session at the Science & Technology Research Institute For Defence (STRIDE) in Kajang today. The primary objective of this visit was to strengthen inter-institutional research collaboration, promote high-tech laboratory testing services, and offer postgraduate academic opportunities tailored for STRIDE's researchers and technical staff.

The roundtable session focused heavily on pioneering joint research initiatives, particularly in leveraging natural materials and forest product science for defense technology applications. During the meeting, INTROP highlighted the capabilities of its advanced laboratory testing machinery available for shared utilization with STRIDE. This collaborative approach aims to optimize research infrastructure usage across both institutions, effectively reducing operational overhead while eliminating equipment duplication.

In addition, INTROP actively promoted its postgraduate academic programs to encourage STRIDE personnel to advance their professional qualifications and technical expertise. INTROP also shared insights into its established research networks spanning local industries and community partners, paving the way for STRIDE to expand its technological outreach and market footprint.

Following the formal discussion, the visiting delegation embarked on a guided tour of STRIDE’s specialized testing laboratories. This laboratory visit allowed researchers from both organizations to gain first-hand exposure to existing scientific apparatus and exchange technical know-how directly.

Both agencies concluded the engagement by affirming the highly positive outcomes of the session. This cross-sector synergy is expected to enhance national science and technology capabilities while delivering a long-term impact on defense innovation and sustainable resource management.
