BUKIT JALIL, 18 February - The Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has launched the Jungle Squad, a 3D animation series that highlights issues of forest and environmental sustainability.
The founder of the Jungle Squad, Dr. Norfaryanti Kamarudin said the Edutainment animation series featured content related to care and educating children to take better care of the environment and ecosystem for the future.
"Squad Rimba highlights five children who have extraordinary powers based on nature, including plants, animals, earth, fire, water and wind, along with a new superhero character, PUTRA Rimba," he said.
He added that this animation product is now looking for investors to be able to penetrate the mainstream media market such as broadcasting stations, social media platforms and so on.
In addition, among those involved in the production of the Jungle Squad, the co-founder, Dr. Syeed Saifulazry Osman Al-Edrus, and Dr. Lee Seng Hua, Riana Liau Kang Ya and assisted by students from Besut Community College, Terengganu.
Squad Rimba published by MyRimba Sdn. Bhd. which is a start-up company under UPM's Innohub program that was established in May 2021 with the aim of producing animations and providing training courses to raise awareness and educate the public about forest and environmental sustainability.
