SERDANG, 15 April 2022 - The Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP) received a visit from Borneo Forestry Cooperative (BFC) representative, Paul Warburton to the study plot of Eucalyptus and forest plantation species at Ladang Puchong, Pusat Pertanian Putra, UPM. The purpose of this visit is to obtain advice from BFC experts in forest plantation management for the plot study that has been developed which includes aspects of silviculture, disease and pest management and so on. Two study plots were developed in 2019 in collaboration with BFC, namely Eucalyptus Genetic Gain Trial Plot and Taxa Trial Plot. Paul Warburton has also suggested some things to improve the study plot in the future. It is hoped that many more activities can be carried out in the future between INTROP and BFC to strengthen the cooperation between the two parties.
