27th UPM Planting Trees Ceremony with Mitsubishi Corporation

27th UPM Planting Trees Ceremony with Mitsubishi Corporation

Date: 14 April 2018

Venue: UPM Kampus Bintulu Sarawak

The planting trees activity is yearly activity which is led by INTROP and UPM Bintulu Campus. The program was participated by 300 participants who are staffs of Japan Mitsubishi Corporation, staffs of government and private agencies, staffs and students of UPM. Up to 3100 saplings consisted of various local species have been planted. The ceremony was officiated by UPM Vice Chancellor (Professor Datin Paduka Dato’ Dr Aini Ideris). She prided and congratulated to UPM and Mitsubishi Corporation with the effort in developing forest rehabilitation module since 1991. She hoped that the effort can be continued in the future with involvement of local community. Mitsubishi Corporation was represented by Yutaka Uno (Deputy General Manager) who stated that the Mitsubishi Corporation is fully committed in supporting forest conservation effort and wished this collaboration can be sustained by using same planting method in large scale for outside of the campus.
