The 7th Wood and Biofibre International Conference 2025 (WOBIC 2025) is the seventh edition of the biennial conference organised by the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia. WOBIC 2025 is proudly co-hosted in collaboration with the Institut Pertanian Stiper (INSTIPER), Indonesia, under the Sustainable Agricultural Landscapes in Southeast Asia (SALSA) platform of partnership.
This conference aims to provide a prestigious platform for the exchange of knowledge, dissemination of technology, and presentation of the latest research findings in the field of wood and biofibre, which holds significant value and benefits to humankind. Participants from around the globe will gather to discuss innovative solutions and sustainable practices that can enhance the utilisation of these resources.
The event will also feature keynote addresses, workshops, and networking opportunities to foster collaboration among researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers. WOBIC 2025 serves as an ideal forum to bring together researchers, academics, students, policymakers, and industry players from both Malaysia and abroad to discuss current issues, share new discoveries, and foster strategic scientific collaboration.
For over a decade, WOBIC has played a vital role as a key meeting point for experts in wood and biofibre across various sectors, including research, development, and industry. The conference features presentations on cutting-edge technologies, discussions on policy frameworks, and strategies for medium- and long-term development. Additionally, it acts as a bridge connecting researchers, industries, and policymakers, thereby strengthening the research and development ecosystem based on wood and biofibre resources.
As part of the SALSA platform, the collaboration with INSTIPER further reinforces WOBIC 2025’s commitment to regional knowledge integration and sustainable landscape management in Southeast Asia. WOBIC also offers valuable opportunities for those involved in the advancement of research and related industries - particularly researchers, educators, investors, suppliers, and engineers - to access information, build networks, and explore high-value collaborative prospects.
