Higher Institution Centres of Excellence (HICoE)

The Higher Institution Centres of Excellence (HICoE) Program is an initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), implemented through the Department of Higher Education (JPT), to elevate HICoEs as referral points in niche research areas at both national and international levels.

The HICoE Program is built upon two main pillars: Research and Innovation as well as Service. To date, HICoE has made significant impacts in nurturing new research talent, producing high-impact journal publications, and generating innovations that benefit academia, industry, government, communities, and the environment.

INTROP has been recognized as a Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) in the niche area of Tropical Wood and Fibre.
