SERDANG, 8 November 2022 - The Laboratory for Sustainable Bioresource Management (BIOREM), Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has organized a public lecture entitled "Amenity Tree Risk Management, Care & Control" and a Joint Tree Planting Ceremony Student. This program is the second series of BIOREM public lectures after the first program was held at INTROP on 16 August 2022 titled "Sustainable management of peatland in Malaysia: The way forward". Mr Rosslan Yaacob who is the president of the Malaysian Arborist Association (PArM) has been invited as a speaker for this lecture. It aims to develop a joint action plan between INTROP and PArM in strengthening visibility at the university level in the field of sustainable agriculture and forestry.

The ceremony was attended by a total of 33 people consisting of UPM staff and students as well as representatives from external agencies such as Gamudaland Sdn.Bhd. The representative from INTROP is the Deputy Director of INTROP, Prof. Associate Dr. Zaiton Samdin, Head of BIOREM Laboratory, Dr. Ruzana Adibah Mohd Sanusi while representatives from PArM are Mr. Mohd Zailani Jamil and Mr. Chua Nee Sheng.

The four-hour knowledge sharing started from 9am until 1pm with the aim of getting information about the tasks carried out by the Malaysian Arborist Association (PArM), adding knowledge about issues, planting techniques and long-term tree care.
