Paris, Jun, 2024 - Dr. Norfaryanti Kamaruddin, a research officer from the Laboratory of Sustainable Bioresource Management (BIOREM), Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), recently participated in an enriching two-week Visiting Scientist Program at Université Paris Cité. The program, funded by the Global Research Institute of Paris (GRIP) through a project, featured a series of seminars focusing on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) movement and experiences of companies in the era of globalisation.

The sessions explored compelling case studies from various countries, including Tunisia, Brazil, France, Morocco, and Malaysia, offering a rich tapestry of strategies different nations employ to address global challenges. Dr. Petia Kolova hosted the visit from the Laboratory of Social Dynamics and Recomposition of Spaces (LADYSS), who facilitated discussions on the diverse applications of CSR initiatives across these different territories.

The visit's highlights included in-depth discussions about future mobility programmes and the promotion of postgraduate studies in sustainable bioresource management. Dr. Norfaryanti's participation underscores INTROP's commitment to advancing global research collaborations and enhancing its contributions to sustainable development. The program not only provided a platform for intellectual exchange but also set the stage for future cooperative endeavours in sustainability and resource management.
