September 23, 2020, Serdang - INTROP has organized a seminar on Network Analysis and Its Application at the Biorefinery Complex, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Science, UPM. The seminar was attended by 18 participants consisting of graduate students, research officers, lecturers and consultants. They are from various institutions outside UPM, such as, University of Malaya, International Islamic University Malaysia, Wau Analytics and EXIM Bank.

Participants were exposed to theories and concepts regarding network analysis by Dr Jean-Marc Roda, UPM-CIRAD Research Fellow. Afterwards, participants have the opportunity to learn about Cytoscape software which is widely used for research in the field of network analysis and its dynamic applications in various fields of work and research. Demonstration of this software was presented by Dr. Norfaryanti Kamaruddin, BIOREM Laboratory Research Officer, INTROP.

This 1-day seminar aims to provide initial exposure to researchers on the important essence of conducting research in the field of network analysis. Apart from that, it is also an initiative by INTROP to gather practitioners and prospective network analysis practitioners in Malaysia. A community of network analysis practitioners is necessary in driving the national agenda to empower IR 4.0-based science and technology.

This seminar was able to attract potential network analysis practitioners and to apply the knowledge in various fields of work and research.
