5 Oct - A total of five INTROP researchers together with four Faculty of Engineering researchers visited the Sg Jernih Bamboo Farm in Kuala Kubu Baru managed by Clarity Crest Sdn Bhd. An area of ​​400 hectares has been allocated for the cultivation of Betong species bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper) trees. Now this bamboo plant has been planted for phase 1 and 2 with an area of ​​116 hectares and will enter phase 3 which covers an area of ​​around 177 hectares. Bamboo plants in phase 1 and 2 have entered the age of 20-12 months. The involvement of INTROP and the Faculty of Engineering is to assist companies in researching the value chain of bamboo-based products with high potential.
