Introduction

Sustainable Bioresource Management laboratory is part of the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The objective of the laboratory is to improve management capability and knowledge of green bioresources especially in the tropical rainforests areas. The main objective of the research is to develop the latest techniques towards preserving and restoring green bioresources and reduce global warming and local biodiversity degradation. Among the best methods is through screening, selection and cultivation to increase the economic value of the green bioresources. Furthermore, the rise of this value can be supported through research in the laboratory based on ecotourism products and services. In addition, research on assessment of forest productivity using remote sensing technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is also emphasized.
