8 October (Tuesday) - The Institute of Tropical Forestry & Forest Products (INTROP) of Universiti Putra Malaysia received a visit from the Occupational Safety and Health Management Unit, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) led by Director Ts. Muhammad Hairynizam Bin Muhd ​​Taib also accompanied by Officers Ms. Afida Miskam's Science from UPM's Occupational Safety and Health Management Office.

This visit involves the Product Development Unit, the Fiber Rod Processing Unit of the Biocomposite Technology Laboratory and also the Pulp & Paper Laboratory of the Biopolymer & Derived Materials Laboratory of INTROP.

A total of 8 officers from UMPSA were given a special briefing by the INTROP Assistant Science Officer, Mr. Mohd Hafizie Bin Manap, who shared about the implementation of the scope of laboratory safety which includes Occupational Health and Safety (OKH) management and looked in detail at the implementation of Scheduled Chemical & Waste Management, Management Contractor, Occupational Health, Ergonomics and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) at UPM's INTROP laboratory.

For additional information, UPM's Institute of Tropical Forestry & Forest Products (INTROP) won the Occupational Health Safety Award (KKP) in conjunction with Service Quality and Innovation Day (HKIP) category C in 2022.
